March is National Nutrition Month and this year’s theme is “Get Your Plate in Shape.” Did you know USDA’s MyPlate replaced the food pyramid in 2011? The idea is to make nutrition and portion size easier to understand and to commit to.
MyPlate has four colored sections representing fruits, vegetables, grains and protein. A smaller circle next to the plate represent dairy. MyPlate is simple and visually shows what to put on your plate and in what proportions.
