Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a day where you feel pressured to spend a small fortune on dining out! I’ll tell you first hand that I'd rather spend my Valentine’s Day enjoying the simple things in life and maybe munching on a cookie (or two).

Below are several cute and fun homemade ideas that can be made with the special people in your lives or given as a Valentine gift!

Kid-friendly holiday treats

The holidays are here! Snow is on the ground, lights are on the houses and most importantly, your kids are finally on winter break. Time for some quality family time. They can’t play outside all day though – brrr! I have a few recipes (more of assembly activities actually) that are a blast to make with the little ones on a winter’s day. Enjoy!

Fudge even grandma will be proud of

Between parties, kid’s events, work, and shopping, there’s only a little time left to make those traditional Christmas goodies you remember from the past. I can handle baking a few cookies and assembling the gingerbread house with the kids, but when it comes to finding a candy thermometer and determining what’s a soft-ball or a hard-crack or thread, that’s where my expertise (and patience) comes to an end.

I’m sorry Grandma – I can’t make fudge from scratch!

Instead, I know just the place to find fudge that’s been lovingly made in a variety of scrumptious flavors - Lunds and Byerly’s.

Fall is the bakery’s time to shine! We have such a fantastic variety of apple products and as we dive deeper into the season, we turn to pumpkin!

Did you know that pumpkin is rich in dietary fiber, anti-oxidants, minerals and vitamins? It’s a local vegetable grown in many Midwest fields and provides a rich sweet flavor to many of our bakery treats.

By this time of year, leaves are falling off the trees and Halloween-themed treats are most likely filling your Pinterest boards, Facebook feeds, and trips down every aisle in the grocery store.

To help spark your Halloween treat ideas, I thought we’d share a few of our own homemade treats, all of which can be made in a matter of minutes! These would all be great for a Halloween party, a fun edible craft or just to celebrate the fall season!
