It’s my favorite time of year! You can start to feel that crisp fall air, see the leaves changing and smell the season change – be sure to throw an extra blanket on the bed and sleep with the windows open.
This also means apple season is finally here. The apple is hands-down the most popular fruit inclusion in our bakeries. You can’t go wrong with a delicious, juicy apple; its flavor is so complementary to just about anything. Get your taste buds ready for fall with these apple-filled masterpieces.
New this year:
Apple cinnamon soda bread: For you Irish soda bread lovers, you need to try this fall spin. It’s sweet and soft inside with a hearty, crisp crust.
Rustic apple tart: This beautiful, hand-folded flakey crust is folded up around the sweet apple filling; drizzled with a bit of caramel, of course. Single serving size.
Apple strudel: Another new product for this year. A full pound of flakey apple goodness. The buttery crust is braided over the chunky apples inside. This is another item that I think will be in our line-up for years to come.
Haralson apple pie: One of our signature treats. Available in nine-inch and 11-inch varieties. Did you know when we launched this pie, we worked closely with the University of Minnesota? They were looking for ways to inspire local companies to use their Haralson apples. We hit a homerun, as this is our best-selling pie!
Apple crumb muffins: The tried and true. I think the apple crumb muffin is one of my favorite ways to enjoy an apple sweet treat. Although this could be a staple in our line-up all year long, we only produce it in the fall, so get ‘em while you can!
Apple cobblestone bread: The classic is back. A hearty loaf of cinnamon bread packed full with apple chunks. I can eat this one plain, but it’s fantastic as French toast, too!
Fresh takes on favorites:
Caramel apples: Our pastry chefs are always thinking of creative ways to dress up the caramel apples. One of my favorites is when they create Vikings jerseys on them! Perfectly appropriate for this time of year. You can request one with your favorite player’s jersey number or maybe your local high school team jersey, too.
Apple cheesecake: A smooth, creamy cheesecake with apple pieces rolled into it. This refreshing fall treat goes perfectly with a cup of coffee.
Apple pie: We have apple options for anyone looking for gluten-free or sugar-free choices.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for apple sweets in our bakeries. If these don’t tempt your taste buds, swing through and we can definitely find something that can.
What’s your favorite apple treat?
