Having just returned from five days in Sonoma and Napa, I am going out on a giant limb (grapevine?) and making the BIG BOLD comment that the absolute BEST Sauvignon Blancs are coming from fruit grown IN SONOMA!! I know that this is going to cause controversy and consternation amongst Napa aficionados, however, the proof is in the bottle as they say.
What I will also say is that our eight stores all carry the three top wines! They are not cheap! They are the best! Buy one for a special occasion. Or, better yet, buy all three – put a brown paper bag around them. Invite eight friends over and have fun guessing which is which and then come up with your top choice. Be sure to let me know what you think!
