Jaw-Dropping Cake Creations

Have you noticed how many cake-based reality television shows there are today? Ace of Cakes, Fabulous Cakes and Cake Boss are a few that quickly come to mind.
When I’m flipping through the channels and come across one of these shows I usually set the remote down. Probably not surprising given the fact that I’m a category manager for our bakeries. These shows open our eyes to the amazing things that cake decorators and pastry chefs can do. But it’s not just on television!
Every time I visit one of our stores I see the creations from our cake decorators and pastry chefs, and they just amaze me at what they can create.
From a 12-foot by 12-foot golf-themed putting green cake complemented by rice crispy golf carts and gophers to elegant wedding cakes to fun alligator cakes and the list goes on. And the best part is that our cakes taste fantastic, too! The television shows focus on the assembly and craftsmanship of the cake, not the fact that it could be a couple of weeks old when it’s finally served at the event.
Wedding cakes are our specialty at Lunds and Byerly’s. Check out a sampling of our cake creations to help get your creative juices flowing. You’d be amazed at the level of talent we’ve got in our stores and their willingness to create just about anything.
