The lowdown on hamburger buns

It’s grilling season year-round at our house - my husband just pulls the grill a little bit closer to the house to keep from freezing in the winter. Now is his time of year when he can be out on the deck barefoot, keeping an eye on the kids playing on the swing set, while he grills us some yummy hamburgers. It’s also a great excuse to delegate some of the nightly cooking duties to him!

So much attention is paid to the meat-side of the burger: what kind of ground hamburger to purchase, what spices to use, and what kind of cheese may taste best.

However, if you think about it, the bun can make or break your hamburger eating experience. If you’re going to go all-out with your hamburgers, you have to be sure you have a quality bun to put them on. Graduations, weddings, first communions, confirmations, baby showers, bridal showers… the list goes on and on. So many different occasions are celebrated perfectly with cake, and who doesn’t love a delicious cake?

We pride ourselves on our scrumptious cake and know that our cake is light-years better than our competition. We recently asked some of our seasoned bakery staff: “What makes our cake different from our competitors?” We dug down deep and came up with all the reasons why our cake is awesome!

With the mild winter we’ve been having, it’s not hard to believe spring is here and Easter is right around the corner. Easter is lovely and a true sign of new life - the end of winter and the fresh new start of spring. My family has a lot of Easter traditions, especially in the food department! All our baked goods come from Lunds and Byerly’s bakeries, so don’t be afraid to taste test a few with your family.
