Minnesota Grown Retailer of the Year!

Have you heard? Lunds and Byerly’s is your 2012 Minnesota Grown Retailer of the Year! We received this award from the Minnesota department of agriculture and Minnesota Grown. We are honored to be this year’s recipient and excited to continue bringing our customers Minnesota grown items throughout our produce departments.

The award was presented by Carrie Tollefson, Minnesota Grown Spokesperson and 2004 Olympian, to Tres Lund, CEO, Lunds and Byerly's

I would like to thank the hard working Minnesota farmers that continue to produce high quality, healthy food. Their passion for growing and their desire to offer all Minnesotans locally produced nutritious food is what makes receiving this award so monumental. I have had the pleasure to get to know many of them over the last few years and their dedication never ceases to amaze me.

I would also like to thank all of our customers for their support of Minnesota grown produce. Your decision to buy local in our stores speaks volumes about your commitment to your community and your appetite for good wholesome food.

While getting out to the farmers markets and roadside stands are a great way to interact with local growers, our Minnesota growers produce far more than can be sold through these outlets. It is our goal to reach a much larger audience for our growers they would not otherwise have at their stands or markets. Our partnership with Minnesota Growers is part of a well-rounded, sustainable approach to market and it is a role we are very proud to play. Many thanks to our customers for completing the circle and enjoying the delicious produce that our great state has to offer.

Lunds and Byerly’s is a Minnesota company offering Minnesota grown produce. Keep it local!

Why buy local? Check out my blog on local produce and get to know your local growers.
