The Fourth of July – the mid-point of summer and one of my favorite holidays! It’s laid back, families get together, boats are on the lake and, of course, burgers and brats are on the grill. There are always lots of things to do (as long as it doesn’t rain)!
As you’re making the rounds to visit friends and family, be sure to check out some of our festive treats in the bakery. Besides, mom might be more impressed if you show up with a tasty treat rather than empty handed.

Blueberry Buttermilk Tarts and Almond Raspberry Tarts
Our bakeries are filled with red, white and blue desserts, flying the ol’ stars and stripes. The fresh fruits of summer are busting with colors and flavors. Strawberries are still sweet and juicy, the raspberries we choose are tart and deep red in color, and the blueberries bring that deep purple color. Pair these flavorful berries with fresh whipped cream or vanilla custard and you’ve got a beautiful and quite tasty summer treat.

This Independence Day you’ll find me at the Chanhassen Fourth of July celebration! My kids love parades and I love being out with the family at this hometown party. Chanhassen will be packed with the 3 F’s: food, fun and fireworks!
Byerly’s Chanhassen serves up food at the City Center Park for the “Taste of Chanhassen.” They’ll be serving fresh tacos, nachos, loaded nachos, cookies, Rice Krispy bars and beverages for sale. The booth is open on July 3 from 4-11 p.m. and July 4 from 10-3 p.m. The Fourth of July parade starts at 2:30 p.m.
