New products hitting our shelves – Red Jacket Orchards cold-pressed juices

Red Jacket Orchards, a family-owned fruit farm in New York’s Finger Lakes region, has been growing fruit and crafting juice for more than five decades. They’re experts in cold pressing.

So what is cold-pressed juice?

Red Jacket’s all-natural juice is cold-pressed fresh from whole fruit with no additives. They take fresh fruit, chop it, and press the cold mash into juice (using traditional “rack and cloth” methods). This juice is kept cold (34 degrees) to maintain its freshness. They don’t add enzymes or do anything to “clarify” the juice. Their process is completely devoid of heat save for the critical step in the flash pasteurization process that ensures safety – for a total of 20 seconds the juice is flash-heated to about 170 degrees to eliminate any possible bacteria, then immediately re-chilled to 34 degrees. It’s then bottled cold…shipped to market cold… and ready for you to enjoy fresh and cold!

This delicious fresh flavor is like nothing on the market — it’s as close to the raw fruit as you can get. Flash-pasteurized and bottled cold, each juice is a good source of fiber, Vitamin C, and antioxidants.

The Nicholson family, owners of Red Jacket Orchards, has been selling fresh juice at farmers markets and gourmet retailers for more than 20 years and garnered national recognition for quality. Today the family farms more than 500 acres of tree fruit, including 300 acres of apples and nearly 250 acres of apricots, sweet cherries, plums, strawberries and many more delicious fruits! From this bounty they make their award-winning juices in a sustainable facility right on the orchard.
