Springtime treats in our bakeries

I know I’m not alone when I say it’s time for spring to get here. Minnesotans are so resilient when it comes to winter – not even a snow storm can stop us! But after a while it’s time for the snow to melt. Unfortunately that won’t be happening any time soon. We can live in a little bit of denial and start thinking about spring with treats from our bakery!
Our ultimate spring item of course is the angel food cake. In small and large sizes, it’s just that perfect base for your fresh strawberries and whipped cream. We’ve got a new gluten-free chiffon cake from Down in the Valley now, too – be sure to give it a try!
Our pastel-colored M&M cookies are fun and not just for the kids. Everybody loves the flavors and the pastel colors give us hope that light colored flowers will be poking out of the ground soon.
A spring luncheon isn’t complete without a few light and flakey croissants, fresh-baked that morning. Croissants are all-purpose items – they go great as breakfast paired with a hot cup of coffee. They also go well with a green salad or filled with a light chicken salad. (Have you tried the new Tuscan chicken salad in the deli? Yum!) It’s like a mini European vacation in every bite.
If you like lemon, you’ll love our mini lemon burst cookies. They’ve got this sassy lemon flavor that you’d never imagine when looking at the unassuming pale yellow cookie. It’s a fun cookie for spring teas and get-togethers.
Spring is such a popular time for celebrations and that means cake! Whether you’ have first communions, confirmations, baptisms, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Easter, graduations or an anniversary, our experienced cake decorators and pastry chefs can help create the perfect cake for your special event. Swing by one of our 22 stores and place an order or place your order online. You want to give your guests the best cake in town and we’ve got it!
Wow – my mood is already picking up just looking at these fantastic photos and knowing spring is right around the corner! What’s your favorite spring treat?
