Recipes must use the item in the chosen category in a way that showcases the flavor of the product used. The Monini product of your choice needs to be an integral part of recipe and a prevalent flavor. Participants are required to submit a picture of the finished dish, along with a picture of the Monini product (oil or vinegar, depending on what category you are participating in) used in the recipe.
All recipes must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (Central Standard Time) on August 1, 2012. Winners will be notified on or before August 24, 2012.
One entry per person, per category. Must be 18 years of age or older to enter.
This contest is only open to persons who are legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. You are not eligible to enter and will be disqualified if: (a) you are a food professional, such as a chef, food writer, food home economist, food educator, or someone who creates recipes for pay; (b) you are a paid food blogger, or (c) you are an employee of Lund Food Holdings, Inc.; Monini North America, Inc.; Caulfield and Associates, or a member of the immediate family (parent, children, siblings, spouse, regardless of where they live) or live in the same household of such employees (whether related or not).
To enter, submit an original recipe using at least one of the Monini products listed in the category (Monini Olive Oil (Extra Virgin—all types) or Monini Vinegar (Balsamic or Wine Vinegars--all types)) in a way that showcases the flavor of the product used. The Monini product of your choice needs to be an integral part of recipe and a prevalent flavor. All information requested below must be included in order for the entry to be deemed accepted. Entries that omit any required information will be deemed null and void.

How many people will this recipe serve?
What is the size of one serving? Use common measurements - e.g., Tablespoons, Cups, Ounces, etc. If specifying one piece, slice, or item, please be sure to include the size.
Ingredients and Amounts
List all ingredients and amounts in this section. Be as specific as possible with the ingredient name and amount. For example, one boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes, rather than one cubed chicken breast. Please also list the ingredients in the order that you use them.
Preparation and Instructions
How do you make your recipe? Please be very specific and clear in your instructions for each step to ensure that your recipe can be duplicated as intended. Include cooking times as well as how you judge when the dish is considered done. Also include what type and size of equipment you use, and serving or presentation suggestions. Being very specific and descriptive with your instructions will help our chefs prepare your recipe as accurately as possible.

All recipes must be submitted to Lund Food Holdings, Inc. by 11:59 p.m. (Central Standard Time) on August 1, 2012. Winners will be announced on or before August 24, 2012.
A panel of four (4) chefs employed by Sponsors will select 4 finalists in each category based on the creativity and completeness of the written recipe. Each finalist recipe will be created as submitted by the panel of 4 chefs. The grand prize winner in each category will be selected based on the taste, visual appeal, completeness of recipe/directions and creativity. Judges will disqualify previously published recipes, such as but not limited to those in cookbooks, in magazines, from food companies, on food blogs or recipe websites and winners in cooking contests, unless the recipe features changes considered significant by the judges. Decisions of the judges are final in all matters relating to this Contest.
One Grand Prize will be awarded in each Product Category:
Olive Harvest 2012 Trip to Rome and Umbria, Italy
- 2 winning recipes (one for Monini EVOO, one for Monini Vinegar) will be awarded a trip for 2
- All airfare is included. MSP to JFK, JFK to Rome and roundtrip back to MSP
- Duration of trip is Saturday to Saturday (so 8 days total including travel time)
- All lodging accommodations provided on a bed & breakfast base
- 3 days in Rome with guided tours, incredible sightseeing, shopping, and amazing restaurant experiences
- 3 days in Spoleto,
- In Spoleto you will experience the entire process of the olive harvest “from tree to bottle”, plus a day trip to an Umbrian Vineyard/Winery as well, offer a cooking course from a well known Umbrian Chef, and enjoy local restaurants along with an “Italian BBQ” featuring the very first EVOO of the harvest : Monini Il Monello EVOO!
- Most of the meals will be provided, except for two lunches and one dinner in Rome where you will be let “free” to roam the “eternal city” at your leisure
All contest prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash, except at the sole discretion of Monini North America, Inc. Each finalist is eligible to win one only one prize. All taxes and other expenses, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winners.
Lund Food Holdings, Inc.; Monini North America, Inc. and/or Caulfield and Associates may prohibit any individual from participating in the contest or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that said individual is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair practices; violates the Official Rules; or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner at any time during the Contest, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. By submitting your recipe, you accept all contest rules and agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges, which will be final. You also agree that your recipe(s) becomes the sole property of Lund Food Holdings, Inc. Lund Food Holdings, Inc. reserves the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish, transfer and use any or all of them, without compensation.
All issues and disputes regarding any aspect of the Contest, including, but not limited to the construction, interpretation and enforceability of these official rules, shall be governed by the laws of the state of Minnesota, without regard to principles of conflicts of laws. All suits and claims shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction situated in Minneapolis MN. Monini North America, Inc. reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any of the prizes stated above.
CAUTION -- ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
