Bacon Cheeseburger
An all-American favorite.

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 6 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 (1/8-inch thick) onion slices
  • 12 slices bacon, cooked
  • 6 (1/4-inch thick) tomato slices
Directions
In medium bowl, combine ground beef, salt and pepper. Form into 6 equal burgers.
To Grill: Using direct heat cooking method, arrange patties on grill 4-5 inches from medium heat. Grill, covered, until internal temperature reaches 160 F using an instant-read thermometer (about 10-12 minutes), turning once. Before removing burgers from the grill, spread each with a scant tablespoon of barbecue sauce and top with one slice of cheese. Allow cheese to melt.
To Assemble: Place onion slice and 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce on bottom half of each bun. Top with cheeseburgers. Top each burger with 2 slices of bacon, one tomato slice and top half of bun. Serve immediately.
Amount: 6 burgers
