New Lunds Stores in Minneapolis
Future plans call for a Lunds store at 11th Street and Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis.
The approximately 30,000-square-foot, full-service supermarket will be located on the main level of a mixed-use project being developed by the site owner, Alatus LLC. A ground breaking is expected to occur in the fall of 2009.
Our original plans called for opening a smaller, multi-level store one block west of the new site at 12th Street and Hennepin Avenue. The new site will allow us to build a larger, single-level store similar to the Lunds that opened in 2006 just across the Mississippi River in northeast Minneapolis at University and Central avenues.
That urban-style store includes a heavy emphasis on perishables and premium prepared foods.
As new information becomes available about our future Lunds downtown, we will be sure to keep you updated.
