Creating the Perfect Pizza

Tim Tesch, chef
Thursday, October 6, 2011

We have a group of chefs whose responsibility is to create new, innovative and delicious prepared foods for our customers to enjoy. The most recent project that I had the pleasure of working on was our new Take & Bake Pizzas that are now available in our delis. I had a great time creating these pizzas and I had a great resource pool to pull from. I want to take a quick second and thank all of you that provided me feedback, ideas and mouths to taste all the delightful flavor combinations.

If you have not, they can be found in the Deli Great Food Fast case along with all of the other great “Ready to Bake” items. We have created over a dozen new styles or combinations along with several tried and true classics.

New Take and Bake Pizzas: Quick, Easy and Delicious

How many days a week does dinner time roll around and you’re hungry but don’t feel like making dinner? Well for me, it’s almost every night. Not only am I hungry, but I’m also tired and want great food fast. Oh…I should mention I’m also a college student so it’s even better if my meals are fairly inexpensive.

One of my new go-to dinners are Lunds and Byerly’s new take-and-bake deli pizzas. What I love about these new pizzas is that their delicious and you don’t have to dirty any extra dishes because the packages are what you use to bake the pizzas in. That makes for easy cleanup (which is extremely helpful when you have roommates who don’t do the dishes!).
