Ingredients
1 package L&B Gyro Meat with Beef & Lamb or L&B Gyro Meat with Chicken
Pita bread
Tomatoes, sliced
Feta cheese crumbles
Lettuce, shredded
Red onion, sliced
Hummus
HOMEMADE TZATZIKI-INSPIRED SAUCE: 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 cup grated cucumber, excess liquid squeezed out
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
2-3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Directions
- Heat the oven to 425°F.
- Add gyro meat to a baking sheet and place it in the oven to heat through, about 5-10 minutes.
- Add pita bread to another baking sheet and place it in the oven to warm, about 5 minutes.
- To make the Tzatziki-inspired sauce, combine all sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
- To assemble the gyros, start with a warm pita. Add gyro meat. And the toppings of your choice, such as hummus, sliced red onions, sliced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, crumbled feta. Drizzle with the homemade Tzatziki-inspired sauce. Enjoy!
