First planted on the Wetzel Family Estate in the 1960s, Merlot is one of our most versatile grapes. With its aromatic nose, silky texture and abundant fruit, it is a major blending component for many of our red wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon and Cyrus, our proprietary red blend. With a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon blended in, this 2009 Merlot displays the qualities that make it a mainstay in our red wine program. Flavors of blackberry, cassis and sweet oak are neatly framed by soft tannins. This wine can be enjoyed immediately or aged for a decade or more. Pair with lamb chops, prime rib, steaks and veal chops. Product of California. 14% alcohol by volume.
